1300 mm MIGHTY MOLE GROUND SCREW & JOIST HAT SET
Fully Hot Dipped Galvanised with an outside diameter of 65 mm, & length of 1300 mm & a Mighty Mole Hat Set to slot & secure on top.
This length is ideal for decks or garden rooms that need to be higher off the ground and /or making up the height on sloping ground and /or for the areas under heavy loads such as Hot Tubs , so that there is more length in the ground, to maintain stability.
Spacing required averages from 1 and 1.5 Metres apart.
For example –
– if you are using 4 x 2 timber joists, the joists would need to be supported every 1 metre.
-if you are using 6 X 2 timber joists, the joists would need to be supported every 1.5 metres.
Load capacity 1500 kgs dependent on the soil type and Ground Screw length above/below the ground ratio. For example compacted clay and dense soil will provide high friction and grip where as loose soil/sandy/water logged ground will offer less resistance. With regards the length of the screw in the ground- deeper lengths in the ground will increase its capacity. and stability.
Add additional ground screws under heavy loads such as HOT TUBS and don’t forget to “DOUBLE JOIST” so the subframe can take the load too.
The Mighty Mole Hat Set (includes: 1 x Hot Dipped Galvanised Steel Hat, 1 X L Brace & 2 x Bolts) This has been especially designed with adaptability in mind so even if your Mighty Mole is not exactly positioned to centre the joists, you can spin the Hat and slide the L Brace so that you can still firmly secure your subframe joists to your Mighty Mole. The L Brace height is 70 mm so can be used with all types of subframe joists 70 mm high and taller.

Additionally, especially for this length screw, we would recommend making a pilot hole with a 32 x 1000 SDS drill bit to ease and direct the Ground Screw.
